Kathryn, The bottom 2 composition are definitely the stronger ones for this exercise... lots of movement throughout, overlap and foreshortening. While 'Oath of the Horatii' is a brilliant painting, Its composition is flatter and more ordered. It still has strong gestures, but the bottom 2 are more fluid and the direction in which you should look to bring gesture into your own work this semester. Overall, the silhouettes are strong and informative. Try to use a darker line in the foreground figures and limbs to separate the levels of the work.
